The management of Kaduna Electric has said that Customers needing a meter can purchase one through the ongoing Meter Asset Provider Scheme (MAP).
It also said that Phase Zero of the National Mass Metering Programme (NMMP) under which free meters were provided by the federal government has been concluded. Consequently, free meters are no longer available.
A statement issued by the company’s head of Corporate Communication, Abdulazeez Abdullahi, said customers can now purchase a meter under the Meter Asset Provider (MAP) scheme.
According to the statement, Customers should note that the cost of the meter purchased under the MAP scheme shall be amortised and customers will be refunded with energy credits over a three-year period.
It further said the revised cost of the meters under the MAP scheme is N63,061.32 for a Single Phase Meter while a Three Phase Meter costs N117,910.69.
The company said it is working closely with its approved MAPs to sensitise customers on the scheme and assured that customers who opt for the scheme a guaranteed a meter within 24 hours.
Kaduna Electric said it shall resume zhe National Mass Metering Programme as soon as the federal government kicks off the Phase One of the Programme in due course.
It urged customers to take advantage of the MAP scheme and get metered to avoid controversies that may arise from estimated billing. Metering it said will allow customers to monitor their consumption and save money in the process
