A letter titled: “Notice of 7 days ultimatum for total withdrawal of services in Kaduna Electric” addressed to the managing director, read, “Sequel to the memo from the union’s acting general secretary, “Re-Services no longer required” of 20th February, 2025, and direct conversation with some of the leadership of the union through phone calls on the 19th of February, 2025 suggesting to put on hold, the new letter to the affected staff in other to look at the areas of our concern, the management went ahead and served the affected staff the new letters.”

The union leaders in the letter signed by. Ayuba B. Pukat, the zonal organising secretary 1 Northwest Zone averred that Governor Uba Sani intervened in the dispute and pledged to ensure justice and fairness to both parties, adding that his intervention made the union to suspend the strike to give room for negotiation.

The leaders in a copy of the letter obtained by LEADERSHIP WEEKEND said it was disheartening that the management did not see reasons to call the union back to the negotiation table to consider the concerns raised.
