No fewer than 100 persons with special needs in Kaduna State have been empowered through financial support and training from the State Agro Processing Productivity Enhancement and Livelihood Improvement Support (APPEALS).
The beneficiaries of the World Bank assisted project by the federal government have assured of their determination to utilise the training and funds judiciously towards self-reliance.
Speaking during an interactive session with the beneficiaries, the communication officer Kaduna APPEALS, Muhammad Bashir, said the event was part of activities to guide the beneficiaries on the process.
He further explained that the persons with special needs were trained on Business Development Services, assisted with Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) registration and supported with grant of N2million for each of them.
Representatives of beneficiaries, Mallam Haruna Abubakar and Rukayya Aliyu, on behalf of others, pledged to put to practice what they had learnt for the development of the agricultural sector.
They also commended Governor Nasir Ahmed El-Rufai’s administration for supporting persons with special Needs to become self-dependents in the state.
