A first class traditional ruler in Kaduna State, the Kpop Ham of Jaba people, His Royal Highness, Dr Danladi Gyet Maude, has honoured a US-based humanitarian, Dr Chetachi Ecton.
Chetachi, whose humanitarian activities are felt in 32 states of Nigeria, Africa and other continents, is the founder of When-In-Need and Elimh Foundations and holds the traditional title of Tir Ham, which was upgraded to Tir Hywiin Ham, which means Preferred Daughter of the Ham land.
Speaking during a programme that also heralds her birthday celebration in Abuja, Maude said many people gathered because Tir Hywiin Ham has done a lot and impacted their lives.
“And I can attest to the fact that she has done a lot, not only for the Ham people, but for Nigerians, Africans and many people in different continents.
“The award is to commemorate her achievements and encourage her to do more. I would like to say to her that both the award, and the birthday celebration should encourage her to continue doing good. God will grant her more years to do more. She will be like the Tabitha that was very good to the windows. Those who are weak, may the almighty God continue to grant you favour and goodwill to do more for them,” Maude said.
He said: “We are giving her the title of Tir Hywiin Ham which means, somebody that is preferred because she is a pride to us because of what she has been doing,” the traditional ruler said, adding that he is flabbergasted with the caliber of people that grace the occasion.”
Chetachi said for the traditional ruler to leave Kaduna to Abuja to celebrate with her showed the kind of love they had for her.
Also, Dr Chris Odey, said Chetachi has been a wonderful mother to many people and has been carrying out humanitarian activities all over the world.
