The minister who disclosed this during a tour of facilities at the college on Friday expressed satisfaction, saying the facilities were of international standard, and would host the highest quantity gas.

“I am impressed with what I have seen in this place, kudos to the executive secretary. From the look of things, I want to believe that this place is ready for commissioning, we should not continue to delay any longer.

“Under the present administration, everything will be done with speed so that we move and restore the hope of Nigerians that the president has been promising since assumption of office,” he said.

He urged the executive secretary of the Petroleum Development Technology Trust Fund (PTDF), Ahmed Galadima Aminu, Energy Commission and Rural Electrification Agency to see how they can provide solar power to assist in the power usage in the area to save the environment.

Ekpo added that global warming is real, and stressed the need to slow down on the emission of gases to save the environment for a better tomorrow.

“We need to be decisive in what we are doing, the destiny of this country is in our hands, nobody will do it for us, we have to do it ourselves. I am impressed with what I have seen. We will ensure that this place is  commissioned by Mr president very soon so that you start the academic session by 2025,” he added.

In his remarks, Ahmed Galadima Aminu  said  the college would serve as one of the vehicles for domestication of the PTDF’s capacity-building programmes.
