Kaduna Retirees Give Gov Sani 2-Week Ultimatum To Pay Entitlements

Retirees in Kaduna State under the Contributory Pension Scheme (CPS) on Tuesday issued a 14-day ultimatum to Governor Uba Sani to pay their entitlements.

The group which staged a peaceful protest in Kaduna also vowed to occupy the Kaduna State Government House if their demands were not met in two weeks.

Chairman of the group, Professor Nate Danjuma who led the peaceful protest to Sir Kashim Ibrahim House, said that their members were dying of hunger.

“We are giving Governor Uba Sani two weeks to pay our entitlements or else we will occupy the Government House.

“Some of our members have developed mental problem because of lack of medical care, some have died of hunger, we keep losing our members everyday. Some of us can’t afford hospital bills. Many are homeless.

“Our members are paralysed, our families are disintegrated, some are going blind, we are sick and we don’t have money to take care of ourselves and families,” Professor Danjuma lamented.

Some of the retirees who also spoke narrated their plights, saying that they feed from hand to mouth.

The Commissioner of Police, Kaduna State Command, CP Muhammad Rabiu who addressed the protesting retirees thanked them for holding a peaceful protest.

He assured them that the Kaduna State governor, Senator Uba Sani will look into their demands.
