All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain, Professor Kailani Muhammad, has expressed commitment to collaborate with the National Assembly (NASS) to ensure an enabling environment for engineers to perform optimally.
The pledge was made during his decoration as a professor by the British American University, Florida, USA, in Abuja yesterday.
The university also appointed Kailani as chairman of its Governing Council.
“I am dedicated to advocating for legislative templates from the National Assembly to remove obstacles and establish an enabling environment in our constitution, creating a friendly atmosphere for engineers to excel,” he said, adding that the honour was a challenge to him to contribute more robustly to the advancement of engineering, particularly, electrical/electronic engineering for the development of the nation.
Kailani who is the director general of the Confederation of APC Support Groups, attributed the challenges faced by Nigerian engineers to insufficient power generation, funding and investment constraints, lack of maintenance, fuel supply issues and more.
