Harry Kane netted twice as Bayern Munich extended their lead at the top of the Bundesliga to nine points with a commanding victory over Eintracht Frankfurt at the Allianz Arena.
Aleksandar Pavlovic opened the scoring after 16 minutes, his volley from just outside the box squirming under the grasp of Frankfurt goalkeeper Kaua Santos. England captain Kane quickly added a second, heading in from close range.
Kane notched his 28th Bundesliga goal of the season in the 68th minute, picking up the ball on the edge of the area and bending a low strike past Santos. It was an eventful afternoon for the former Tottenham striker, who conceded a penalty after fouling Oscar Hojlund in the box. Jonathan Burkardt converted the spot-kick, slotting it into the bottom corner past Bayern goalkeeper Jonas Urbig, offering Frankfurt a glimmer of hope.
With four minutes remaining, Arnaud Kalimuendo capitalised on a lapse in concentration from Bayern’s defence, as Kim Min-jae’s clearance rebounded off him and into the net.
The result sees Bayern increase their advantage over second-placed Borussia Dortmund, who play RB Leipzig later on Saturday (17:30 GMT), while Frankfurt remain in seventh position. Prior to kick-off, Kane was honoured with a commemorative poster celebrating his achievement of 500 career goals for club and country last weekend against Werder Bremen.
