The Kano state government budget for 2025 has hit the sum of N935,133,792,260.062 after gaining an approval of N215,378,374,543,062 Supplementary appropriation by the Kano state House of Assembly.

The supplementary budget was passed into law after it was considered in the committee of the whole house and third reading by the clerk, Bashir Diso, during Monday’s plenary presided over by the speaker, Ismail Falgore.

Earlier in August, after its 30th executive council meeting, the state executive council sent a letter to the House seeking to expand its 2025 budget by N169,522,463,294.81 from an initial approved budget of N719,755,417,663.00 approved in 2024.

According to the council, the supplementary budget aims to strengthen government capacity to deliver on its core mandates and emerging obligations.
