Kano State Commissioner for Information and Internal Affairs, Comrade Ibrahim Abdullahi Waiya, has called for the recall of Hon. Ali Sani Madakin Gini from the National Assembly, accusing him of failing to adequately represent the people of Dala federal constituency of the State in the House of Representatives.
Speaking at a stakeholders’ meeting organised by the Dala Local Government Area chapter of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), Waiya expressed dissatisfaction with Madakin Gini’s performance, asserting that his alleged deviance from the ideals of his constituents necessitated his removal fro the House.
“The people of Dala Local Government deserve better representation. The recall of Hon. Madakin Gini is necessary to address the needs and concerns of our constituents,” Waiya said.
The commissioner emphasised the political significance of Dala Local Government Area, noting that it boasts the highest number of commissioners in the Kano State Executive Council and the majority leader of the Kano State House of Assembly.
LEADERSHIP recalls that Madakin Gini publicly renounced the Kwankwasiyya ideology last year but did not officially resign from the NNPP. He announced that he would create his own movement, having lost faith in the Kwankwasiyya ideals.
The commissioner argued that Madakin Gini’s actions reflected a lack of commitment to the electorate who voted him into office. “Madakin Gini has clearly stated he is no longer a part of the people who championed and voted for him. Therefore, there is no need for him to continue in this post when he isn’t representing the interests of the people of Dala. Once the party leadership agrees, I am ready to start the recall process,” Waiya added.
The meeting was attended by notable figures, including Alhaji Lawan Husaini Dala, chairman of Dala NNPP; Alhaji Dayyab Ahmad Maiturare, Kano State Commissioner of Environment, and Hon. Suraj Kwankwaso, among others.
