The Kano State deputy governor, Comrade Aminu Abdussalam Gwarzo, has been criticised for his statement about Hafsat Ganduje, the wife of former Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje.
The remark, widely condemned as an unwarranted, has been described as unacceptable and unbecoming of a high-ranking public official.
Leading the charge in defence of Mrs. Ganduje is Hon. Sani Bala Tsanyawa, who called for a retraction and public apology from the deputy governor.
“As a respected public figure, the Deputy State Governor should uphold the highest standards of decency and respect for others, regardless of their background or affiliations,” Tsanyawa stated.
“His words have caused harm not only to Hafsat Ganduje but also to her family and loved ones.”
Tsanyawa called on relevant security agencies to take appropriate action, emphasizing the importance of maintaining decorum and integrity among those in public office.
“This incident should serve as a reminder that public officials must lead by example, treating all individuals with dignity and respect,” he added.
