Emir of Kano, Aminu Bayero, has called on a conglomeration of donor agencies, Lives and Livelihood Funds (LLF), to sustain the funding of development projects and introduce more beneficial activities in Kano State.

In an address he delivered when he received the leadership of the LLF and the Islamic Development Bank (IDB) among others in his palace yesterday, the monarch expressed appreciation to the foundation for investing in the people of Kano and assured the team of continued support of the emirate.

Alhaji Bayero said, “We wish to use this opportunity to thank the development partners for their support to the government and people of the state.

“We hope this visit will be an eye opener for them to see more sectors they can support. It will also provide them with a good knowledge of the economic dispensation and how it will enable them to come in.

“There is no better time than this to fund development projects not only in Nigeria, judging by the problem being faced by the global economy,” he said.

LLF is a joint vision of the Islamic Development Bank (IDB) and other corporation partners funding agricultural projects in Kano State.

The leader of the team, Adir Sheriff, told the emir that they were in Kano to show the donors how their funds were being spent and for them to be aware of the projects.

He said what was on the ground would lead to further funding and additional projects in the state.

“The purpose of this visit is to show the donors the projects on the ground and to see how the Nigerian government spends their donations.

“Today, we had a series of presentations on the projects and so far, we are satisfied with what we have seen. We are real with the results we have seen on the ground.

“We are also going to visit the fields to see practically how the projects are being implemented,” he stated.
