In continuation of the monthly empowerment of women in Kano State, Governor Abba Yusuf , has distributed N50,000 each to 5,200 women across the state for the month of July.
The governor distributed a total of N260 million to the women and urged them to enhance their micro-businesses within the domestic status.
He said the money would also not only increase the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) but also break the circle of poverty within the state.
He warned those with the responsibility of distributing the money to beneficiaries to ensure transparency as his administration would not tolerate corrupt acts.
“Since the beginning of our empowerment programme in all the local governments of the state, this is the second segment of the initiative.
“100 women have been selected to benefit from 36 local governments and 200 each from the eight local governments that make up the metropolis of Kano.
“Each of the beneficiaries will be given N50,000 each, making a total of N260 million for the month of July,” the governor said.
Governor Yusuf expressed gratitude for the contributions of women since the beginning of the Kwankwasiyya Political Movement and their votes for the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) in the state.
