Before his elevation to the new role, AVM Umaru served as the Director-General of the Directorate of Special Services at the Kano State Government House.

Governor Yusuf charged the newly sworn-in Commissioner to discharge his duties with utmost honesty, integrity, and dedication to the protection of lives and property in the state. He emphasised the need for strengthened collaboration among security agencies to address rising security concerns.

LEADERSHIP reports that AVM Ibrahim Umaru (rtd) brings decades of military experience from the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) to his new position.
