The directive was conveyed by the Commissioner for Public Procurement, Project Monitoring, and Evaluation, Comrade Nura Ma’aji Sumaila, during an inspection visit to Warawa local government area.

The visit is part of a statewide monitoring tour aimed at assessing the progress of the ongoing infrastructure projects.

A statement by the Kano State Ministry of Public Procurement, Project Monitoring, and Evaluation, said the commissioner also visited Minjibir and Ungogo local governments.

While expressing satisfaction with the quality and pace of work in Minjibir where the project is reportedly at 95 per cent completion, the commissioner urged contractors in Warawa and Ungogo where completion is at 47% and 85% rates, respectively to accelerate efforts to meet the set deadline.

“A meeting was held, and an agreement was reached between His Excellency, Engr. Abba Kabir Yusuf and the contractors to complete the projects within five months,” Sumaila stated.

He further disclosed that the Governor had personally engaged with the contractors to understand the challenges hindering project execution, leading to a consensus on the completion timeframe.

In order to ensure compliance, the Commissioner announced that monitoring visits would be conducted every two weeks to track progress and address emerging issues.

In addition to the road projects, the Commissioner also inspected the ongoing renovation of Minjibir General Hospital where he commended the contractor and encouraged the team to maintain the momentum.
