Commissioner of Police, Mr. Hussaini Gumel, confirmed this while addressing newsmen in Kano on Friday.

He stated that on December 21, around 7:00 a.m., a report came in from Hafizu Salisu of Bauchi LGA, indicating he received a call from Daiyanu Abdullahi of Unguwa Uku, Kano, reporting the death of his brother, Nafi’u Hafiz.

Upon arriving at the Unguwa Uku residence, several injuries, suspected to be knife stabs, were discovered on various parts of the deceased.

Gumel mentioned that investigation led to the arrest of the key suspect, Hafsat Surajo, a housewife in the residence where the deceased lived.

The commissioner explained that the suspect confessed to being the sole perpetrator, admitting to stabbing the deceased multiple times.

“Her husband, one Dayyabu Abdullahi of the same address, and their gateman, Malam Adamu, were arrested for aiding, packaging, and concealing the dead body to cover up the culpable homicide,” he stated.

Gumel revealed that discreet investigation led to the recovery of the blood-stained knife used in committing the crime.

He further added that the suspect would be charged to court after the investigation.
