The Commissioner of Police, Kano State Command, CP Ibrahim Bakori, has decorated 29 newly promoted officers of the Command with their new ranks, charging them to uphold professionalism, discipline, and integrity in the discharge of their duties.

Speaking during the decoration ceremony held at the Officers’ Mess on Monday, CP Bakori described the promotions as a well-deserved recognition of the officers’ dedication, commitment, and exemplary service to the nation.

According to him, the promotions were approved by the Police Service Commission (PSC) on the recommendation of the Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Dr. Kayode Egbetokun, whom he commended for his visionary leadership, tireless efforts, and unwavering commitment to the welfare and career progression of officers across the Force.

The CP also expressed appreciation to the Assistant Inspector-General of Police, Zone 1, Kano, for his mentorship and support to the Command, which he said had contributed immensely to the efficiency and growth of the Nigeria Police Force (NPF).

Breaking down the promotion list, CP Bakori revealed that two officers were elevated from Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP) to Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP), 21 from Superintendent of Police (SP) to Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP), while six officers were promoted from Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) to Superintendent of Police (SP).

While congratulating the newly promoted officers, the CP reminded them that their elevation comes with greater responsibilities and higher expectations.

He urged them to rededicate themselves to the ideals of integrity, discipline, and selfless service that define the policing profession.

“Your promotion is not merely a reward for past accomplishments but a call to greater responsibility. The challenges facing our nation today require innovative thinking, teamwork, and unwavering commitment. Lead by example and inspire your subordinates to do the same,” he stated.

CP Bakori reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to maintaining law and order across Kano State, assuring residents of the Police’s continued determination to ensure a safer and more secure environment.
