Kano Schools To Vacate On Friday

The Kano State Government has directed all Day and Boarding Public/Private Primary and Post Primary Schools to close for the first term vacation on Friday, December 15th, 2023. The vacation will continue through Saturday, December 16th, 2023.

Parents and guardians of students in boarding schools are requested to pick up their wards by the early hours of Saturday, December 16th. Boarding school students will resume on Sunday, January 7th, 2024, while day students will return to school on Monday, January 8th, 2024.

The Commissioner of Education, Alhaji Umar Haruna Doguwa, urged parents and guardians to ensure their children comply with the approved resumption dates. He warned that disciplinary action will be taken against any student who fails to adhere to the schedule.

The Commissioner expressed his appreciation for the cooperation and support received by the Ministry of Education and wished all students and pupils a safe and successful holiday.

The statement read in part, “Parents/ Guardians of Pupils and Students in the Boarding schools are to convey their wards home by the early hours of Saturday 16th Dec. 2023.
