Speaker of the Kano State House of Assembly, Jibril Falgore, has applauded governor Abba Yusuf for initiating laudable programmes targeting women and youth in the state.

Falgore in a statement issued yesterday by his spokesperson Kamaluddeen Shawai, noted that, the flag -off of monthly women and youth empowerment programme by the governor has come at the right time, considering the present economic reality faced by the citizens.

Governor Yusuf had recently flagged off initiative to invest the sum of N260 million to empower more than 5,200 women on a monthly basis with each getting up to N50,000 to start a small or argument her business.

The speaker described the initiative as timely and also a brilliant idea that would improve economic activities and in particular, make the women and youths to become self-reliant through the small scale enterprises.

Falgore also explained that the empowerment programme will go a long way in boosting the living standards of the citizens and alleviate the hardship in the country.
