Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, has commiserated with Vice President Kashim Shettima over the death of his stepmother, Hajia Hauwa Abba Kormi.
The governor’s spokesman, Sanusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, in a statement yesterday said he arrived the family house of the vice president in Maiduguri early yesterday to visit the family.
While condoling with them, he prayed God to receive her soul.
“Your Excellency, we are here on behalf of the government and good people of Kano to share our most sincere condolences to you and the extended family on the death of our beloved mother.
“May Almighty Allah, the most exalted grant her gentle soul eternal rest, give you the courage and the fortitude to bear her loss, and Jannatul Firdausi be her final abode,” Governor Yusuf prayed.
Similarly, Taraba State Governor Dr Agbu Kefas condoled with Vice President Kashim Shettima over the death.
Kefas who extolled the virtues of the step mother, urged the vice president to take pride in the fact of being a worthy son.
The governor described the mother as a true symbol of decency and moral rectitude, stressing that the discipline she instilled in her children had become a national treasure.
Kefas prayed for the repose of her soul while urging the vice president to continue to uphold the mother’s legacies of resilience and uprightness .
Meanwhile, Governor Kefas has also congratulated the president and chief executive of Dangote Industries Limited, Alhaji Aliko Dangote, on the highest civilian award, the National Order of the Lions by President Macky Sall of Senegal.
Kefas noted that the business mogul has remained consistent in his global brand. He said the Dangote Group is now easily associated with success and transparency in doing business around the world.
