Executive vice chairman/chief executive of the National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI), Prof Mohammed Haruna, has received an award from the Indigenous People of Karu, Nasarawa State for his efforts at advancing Nigeria’s technology.
The award was given during activities of the 1st Karu Cultural Fiesta organised by the Karu Indegenous People and chaired by the Executive Chairman of Karu local government council, Hon James Thomas.
Thomas, who handed over the award to the NASENI Boss, said: “the need to honour and recognize stakeholders is paramount, and my administration made it a duty to bring it to fruition.
“We are proud of the Executive Vice Chairman/Chief Executive of NASENI, Prof M. S. Haruna for his tireless effort in the development of science, technology, and innovations for national development,” Thomas said while presenting the award on behalf of the entire Karu community to the NASENI boss.
A statement issued by special assistant on social media to the NASENI chief, Peter T. Ewu said the event took place at the CSS Global Integrated Farms Gora, Nasarawa State, Thomas used the opportunity to say that Haruna’s track record is laudable adding that his efforts and transformational leadership in NASENI and Nigeria at large cannot be over-emphasized.
Receiving the award, Prof Haruna commended the leadership of Karu for initiating programmes that are directly beneficial to humanity, growth, and national development.
While thanking the organisers for the job well done, Haruna called for all and sundry to support one another for the benefit of the community.
“Nasarawa is blessed with natural resources and people with potential. The people should support the current administration to ensure sustainability in governance,” he said.
