The chairman of Karu local government Area of Nasarawa State, Barrister Abubakar Aliyu Madaki, has given N10 million to residents affected by a recent heavy rainstorm that caused widespread damage.
The money was shared with the affected persons at the Etsu Karu Palace, where the chairman reiterated his commitment to supporting the people during difficult times.

“We will continue to assist our people, especially those affected by the recent devastating rainstorm,” Madaki said.

He emphasised that the timing of the intervention was crucial, given the extent of the damage to property and livelihoods across various communities.

In his remarks, Etsu Karu Pharmacist Luka Baba Panya expressed appreciation for the chairman’s gesture, describing it as unprecedented.

“This is the first time in the history of Karu Local Government that such assistance is coming directly from the chairman to victims of a natural disaster,” he said.
