The governor of Katsina state, Dikko Radda on Thursday said the All-Progressives Congress (APC) is not entertaining fears over victory at the 2027 general election as the state is for the party.
Radda, who is seeking second term stated this while addressing journalists after submitting his N50 million APC expression of interest and nomination forms in Abuja.
The Katsina governor also declared that the APC stakeholders in the state have adopted the consensus mode of primary election to ensure continuity of internal cohesion and peace in the party.
“We are here to submit our expression of interest and the nomination forms to our party, APC. And we came, usually, to do that and with due respect to the party and to the party principles.
“So, in Katsina, APC is doing very well and we are expecting victory come 2027, Inshallah at all levels in Katsina state. So, we are so grateful.
“We don’t have any fear. Katsina state is an APC state; 361 ward councillors, 34 local governments, 34 members of the State Assembly, 15 members of the National Assembly as well as three senators all belong to APC.
So, I think Katsina is one of the most comfortable APC states in the north-west of the country.
“We met with all the stakeholders in the state and then we all agreed that we are going to adopt consensus so that we continue with the party’s strength and cohesion and to also maintain peace in our party,” he said.
Governor Radda said he was seeking second term of office to consolidate on efforts put in place towards security of the state and infrastructure development.
“This is what is giving us more strength and that is why we have the support of the teeming masses in the state because they have seen what we have done.
“We are not candidates that will come and tell people that, I’m going to build a bridge, I’m going to build a school, I’m going to build a road.
“We have already built a road, we have already built a bridge, we are consolidating on all the things that we have done in our first tenure to ensure full completion, full automation, full compliance and then we are good to go,”he added.
