Katsina State Governor Dikko Umaru Radda has sent four executive bills to the House of Assembly to be passed into law.
The bills and amendments proposed by Governor Radda as contained in a statement issued by the chief press secretary, Ibrahim Kaula Muhammad, include; ” A bill to establish the Katsina Community Watch Corps: This bill aims to enhance the security and safety of communities across Katsina State by establishing a vigilant and community-oriented watch corps.
The proposed corps will collaborate with existing security agencies to bolster efforts in combating crime and ensuring peace and stability in the state.
A bill to establish the Katsina Development Management Board: Focused on promoting efficient development planning and implementation, this bill seeks to create the Katsina Development Management Board. The board will play a critical role in coordinating developmental projects and initiatives, fostering collaboration between various stakeholders, and ensuring optimal resource allocation for sustainable growth.
A bill to establish Katsina State Geographic Information System (KATGIS): To modernize land administration and facilitate investment in real estate, the Katsina State Geographic Information System (KATGIS) will be established. The bill is to introduce an efficient and digitised land information system that streamlines land ownership processes and encourages responsible land use.
“A bill to amend the Katsina State Revenue Administration (Codification and Consolidation 2021): To strengthen the financial framework of Katsina State and ensure transparent and effective revenue administration, Governor Radda has proposed amendments to the Katsina State Revenue Administration. The bill seeks to enhance revenue collection systems, optimize tax compliance, and improve accountability in financial matters.
