Katsina Govt Pays N300m Compensation For Airport Expansion

The Katsina State Government said it has paid over N300m as compensation to 421 persons for the expansion of Umaru Musa Yar’adua International Airport, Katsina.

The State Head of Service, Usman Isyaku revealed this while briefing journalists shortly after receiving officials of the Federal Ministry of Aviation, who were in the state to inspect the kick-off of four projects at the Airport.

He said the state government has already handed over the land acquired for the construction of a fire truck maintenance centre, cargo terminal and a modern terminal.

Appreciating the State Governor, Mallam Dikko Umar Radda for his commitment to ensuring the actualisation of the project, he stated that if completed, the projects would provide job opportunities for the teeming youths in the state.

On his part, the Director of air drone development, Engineer Clement Olayinka who led the Federal Ministry of Aviation team, expressed gratitude to the state governor for making available the land, excited with Governor Radda’s passion and commitment to providing the land within the shortest time.

He affirmed that all the contractors have been mobilised to the site to join the inspection team ahead of the commencement of the project.
