Katsina State governor, Umaru Radda has announced his administration’s plans to recruit additional personnel for the Community Watch Corps (CWC) to have a presence in all parts of the state.
The governor disclosed this during a security meeting with stakeholders held at the Government House, Katsina where he outlined plans to recruit qualified and patriotic young men to serve in their respective communities.

Governor Radda therefore dedicated a committee to oversee the identification, screening and recruitment of interested youths in the state for the job.

He reiterated that the expansion of the corps programme would empower a lot of communities to be more proactive in their roles in self-defence and reaffirmed the government’s commitment to supporting the programme by providing training to the recruits and equipping them with the necessary arms and logistics to effectively perform their security duties.

He also urged the federal government to consider redeploying lower-ranking security personnel back to their home states, Katsina in particular, believing that such would allow them to serve their communities with a deeper sense of commitment.
