This decision was part of the resolutions reached at the state executive council meeting held at the Government House in Katsina State, presided over by Governor Umar Dikko Radda.

Addressing journalists shortly after the meeting, the Commissioner of Works, Housing, and Transport, Engr Sani Magaji Ingawa, stated that the drive aims to enhance urban infrastructure, improving business activities across the city.

He added that the projects, under the governor’s urban renewal programme, were awarded to the Chinese company CCECC, with an anticipated completion timeline of two years.

A press statement signed by the governor’s chief press secretary, Ibrahim Muhammed Kaula, states that “among the nine roads earmarked for development include: the construction of the eastern bypass, stretching from Dutsinma Road, Kano Road, passing through Daura Road, and terminating at Yandaki Village in Kaita Local Government.

“Dualisation of roads from Katsina Central Mosque through Kofar Marusa, terminating at WTC Roundabout, and another from Yandaki-Shinkafi to Kofar Sauri, and Airport Junction to the proposed bypass along Daura Road.

“Extension of dualisation from Barhim Estate to the proposed bypass along Mani Road, and from Water Board Roundabout through Kofar Sauri to Katsina Central Mosque.

“Construction starting from Rafin Dadi through KTSTA Roundabout to Batsari Roundabout, Central Police Station to Kofar Yandaka, and Central Police Station to Kofar Kaura underpass.”
