Kebbi State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has cautioned the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) against making frivolous statements in the media against Governor Nasir Idris’ administration.
The ruling party enlightened the state’s people on the achievements recorded within one year of Idris administration.

In a statement signed by its spokesman, Isah Abubakar Assalafi and made available to newsmen yesterday in Birnin Kebbi, he said the enlightenment came on the heels of the “mischievous” press statement issued by the state PDP on June 14, 2024, to Kebbi workers titled: “Take Heart and Bear with the Insensitivity of the Government of Kebbi State.”

Assalafi said, “Our attention has been drawn to yet another fallacious misrepresentation by the Peoples Democratic Party in the state targeted at the present administration under the able leadership of the indefatigable and quintessential governor, Comrade Nasir Idris.

“That’s why we want to enlighten the Kebbi State people on the various achievements of the administration, particularly on infrastructural development as well as the upliftment of workers in the state,” he said.

He noted that the present administration has never defaulted in paying the salaries and allowances of the Kebbi State workers, payment of leave grants to all categories of workers in the state, and remained constant in paying the pensions and gratuities of the retired civil servants.

Similarly, he added that on the issue of salary advances paid by other states, he noted that salary advances, which are loan instalment payment schemes, are not ideal solutions to cushion the effects of economic hardship because loans can never be the panacea for economic viability.
Assalafi said it was apparent that the PDP is yet to get over its defeat during the 2023 general elections.
