The mosque which was built by the former Emir of Gwandu, Almustapha Haruna Jokolo, many years ago, was the only mosque then.

Before the current renovation by the governor, the structure of the mosque which looked old, was first renovated to a modern style by Jokolo.

A resident of the area and businessman, Nasiru Mustapha who is handling the renovation project, told Journalists in Birnin Kebbi that many people in Nasarawa area have expressed their appreciation to the governor for the renovation of the mosque.

“Some even gave me their appreciations in writing to extend it to the governor over the renovation of the mosque,” Mustapha said.

He added that the renovation has now reached 90 per cent completion, adding that when completed, the governor would be invited to see and also perform a Juma’at prayer with the Muslim community in Nasarawa, Birnin Kebbi.

Mustapha, who thanked the governor for giving him the renovation contract, further disclosed that he had handled about ten renovation works in the state.

He also commended the governor for funding State’s INEC to conduct local government elections, which, according to him, has transformed the local government system.
