The Kebbi State Correspondents Chapel of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) has elected the state’s correspondent of LEADERSHIP Group, Kabir Wurma, as its chairman.
This was announced by the secretary of the state’s council of NUJ, Comrade Ismail Adebayo of Daily Trust Newspaper who also supervised the election in Birnin Kebbi.
Other elected members include Mr Olanriwaju Lawal of the Sun Newspaper as secretary, Aminu Umar of Legacy Newspaper – treasurer, Muhammed Lawal of News Agency of Nigeria – vice chairman, Hajiya Binta Aliyu of the Voice of Nigeria – assistant secretary, Zubairu Tatu of The Authority Newspaper –financial secretary and Umar Farouk of LEADERSHIP Hausa as auditor.
The chairman of the state council, Comrade Bello Sarki Abubakar, congratulated the new leadership of the chapel.
Sarki charged the new EXCO to be mindful of the NUJ constitution while discharging their responsibilities of the chapel.
In his acceptance speech, the new chairman, Kabir Wurma pledged to move the chapel to a greater height through a transparent leadership.
