While handing them over at a brief ceremony in Government House in Birnin Kebbi, Governor  Nasir Idris said the state government deems it necessary to purchase the vehicles for the security agencies following their complaints to his administration that for many years they were not given vehicles by the previous administrations.

“Now the present government has bought the vehicles and presented them to you, we expect vigorous patrols in order to eradicate criminal activities in the state,” Idris said.

The governor added that the government would also provide logistics for the sustainable operation of the vehicles.

Of the 27 vehicles, 10 were handed over to police, six to the Army, Department of States Services (DSS), four, Nigeria Security Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), three and one for the security adviser and one for the commandant vigilante among others.
