Former deputy governor of Kebbi State during the administration of former Governor Saidu Dakingari, Alhaji Ibrahim Khalid Aliyu has died.
This was confirmed to journalists on Friday by an indigene of Yauri Emirate, Alhaji Shehu Mohammed Yauri.
According to him, the late Aliyu died in Sokoto after a prolonged illness.
The deceased served as deputy governor between 2007 and 2015 under Dakingari’s administration and hailed from Yauri emirate.
Governor Nasir Idris of Kebbi State who expressed shock over the demise of the former deputy governor described his death as painful loss not only to his family and Yauri emirate but, to the government and people of Kebbi state.
Idris noted that the late Aliyu distinguished himself both as a career civil servant and as deputy governor who earned prestige and nationwide respect.
He prayed to Allah to forgive him and grant him Aljannar Firdausi.
