Kebbi State governor, Dr Nasir Idris, has received defecting members of Peoples Democratic Party ( PDP) from Jega local government area into the All Progressives Congress (APC) at the Government House in Birnin Kebbi.

The defectors’ leader, Abdullahi Maiashana Jega informed Governor Idris that they joined APC without demanding appointments, monetisation or any gratification from the government of the ruling party.

“We joined APC Your Excellency based on the good manifesto of APC and the unwavering commitment towards the uplifting of the lives of people of Kebbi State within two years of your administration,” Maiashana said.

“And we would continue to offer our support and cooperation towards the success of all APC candidates in 2027 elections ” he added.

He noted that his members have already revalidated their membership card with APC and approached INEC to ensure their names are In the Continuous Voter Registrations ( CVR ) currently going on at the registration centres in the state.

Receiving them, Governor Nasir Idris expressed his happiness for their defection from PDP to APC unconditionally without requesting for anything from the ruling party or government of Kebbi State.

He assured them of inclusiveness in APC and all government’s activities and programmes.

“This is the first time I’m receiving such group of politicians without demanding of anything as condition to join our party,” Governor Idris said.
