Wife of the governor of Kebbi State, Hajiya Nafisa Nasir Idris, has cautioned female secondary school students against random disposal of pads during their menstrual cycle.

She said such actions can cause communicable diseases among them and in their environment.
Hajiya Idris gave the admonition yesterday during a Girl-talk on education, safety and health (G-TOESH) sensitisation programme organised by her foundation, Nafisa Nasir Charity Development Association (NANAS) at the Presidential Lodge in Birnin Kebbi metropolis.

She said it was not hygienic to see used pads in the school premises, backyards or even on roadside thrown there by the students during their menstrual period.

The governor’s wife, therefore, charged the students to dispose used pads at refuse dump or latrine which does not have a water system.

She also urged other women to embrace antenatal care during pregnancy as a necessary path to safe delivery and avoid complications during birth.
