The Kebbi government has entered an agreement with the Chinese government to fight criminal activities by Lakurawa bandits in the state.

The agreement was reached when Governor Nasir Idris received a global security consortium, G-Safety, from China at the Government House in Birnin Kebbi. Idris described the visit by the security firm as timely considering the current security challenges Kebbi State was facing in local government areas along the Nigeria-Benin-Niger borders.

“We want you to advise the government on key areas of insecurity so that we work with you together with our security agencies in addressing challenges in some local government areas affected by Lakurawa bandits activities,” the governor said.

Speaking to journalists after signing the agreement, the security consultant for G-Safety, Ahmed Saleh Junior, said the company is headquartered in Beijing,  China, with over 36 branches worldwide, providing comprehensive security solutions for governments and institutions.

He assured that the partnership would complement ongoing efforts to secure the state and region from banditry.
