Kebbi State government has donated N20 million to the seven deceased Almajiris who died last Saturday in the process of collecting sands from the top of Dukku Hill in Badariya area of Birnin Kebbi local government area of Kebbi State.

Before the tragedy, the Islamic pupils were studying Qur’an under a popular religious cleric in the Badariya area of Birnin Kebbi, the state capital, Mallam Dan-Umma Qur’anic School, Badariya.
The governor who was on an official trip abroad, sent a delegation comprising commissioners and special advisers led by the state’s head of service, Safiyanu Garba Bena to condole with the families of the deceased Aljannaris.

“Governor Nasir Idris heartily commiserates with Mallam Dan-Umma, families of the deceased and the entire people of Kebbi State on the sad event,” Bena said.

He presented N20 million to the families of the seven deceased victims on behalf of Governor Idris.
Bena added that the governor has directed all the relevant emergency agencies in the state to take urgent measures to safeguard a repeat of the tragedy anywhere in the state.
