Kebbi State government and the National Drugs Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) in the state have debunked reports alleging the existence of a secret airstrip in Argungu, Kebbi State purportedly used for smuggling cocaine into the country.

At a joint press briefing held at Cabinet Office in Birnin Kebbi,  commissioner for Information and Culture and the Commander of NDLEA in Kebbi, Yakubu Ahmed Birnin Kebbi and Mr Rabi’u Abdullahi Sokoto described the story as false and malicious which according to them was generated by using artificial intelligence ( AI).

They urged the people of Kebbi State to remain vigilant and disregard such malicious and fabricated story.

They described the story as an attempt to tarnish the image of people of Kebbi State.

According to them,  government and the agency would soon take necessary action against dissemination of fake news in the state.
