The Kebbi State government has presented 50 new buses to members of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) for inter-state transportation.
Presenting the buses at a ceremony on Thursday in Birnin Kebbi, Governor Nasir Idris said the government distributed the buses to different groups of NURTW members in order to enhance commercial transportation system, especially inter-state services across the country.
Represented by the commissioner for transport, Bala Muhammed Gagga, Governor Idris added that the essence of procuring the buses was to assist the transport union, bus drivers and commuters for easy transportation from the state capital Birnin Kebbi to other states in the country.
The governor urged drivers of the buses to be honest, fair and trustworthy in handling them for lasting service.
