Chairman of Aliero local government area of Kebbi State, Alhaji Salihu Auwal Aliero, has been impeached by the councillors for alleged gross misconduct.
LEADERSHIP gathered from one of the councillors who craved anonymity that Aliero was removed yesterday by majority of the councillors during their emergency sitting at the council secretariat in Aliero.
A new acting chairman, Alhaji Shuaibu Ibrahim, has been worn in by acting chief judge of the state, Justice Umar Abubakar.
He administered the oaths of office and allegiance on the acting chairman and his deputy Abubakar Ibrahim.
