Kigo was said to have made the rating during an Islamic gathering organised by Aleiro Estate Youths Development Association held on March 15, 2025 at Aleiro Quarters in Birnin Kebbi.

Addressing a news Conference held at JNI headquarters in Birnin Kebbi he said, ” I Nasir Abubakar Kigo hereby tender my apology to the governments and people of Sokoto and Kebbi States over my comment for rating the two States higher on activities of homosexual and lesbianism which was widely circulated on video clips and other social media platforms.

“I discovered that my rating has no iota of truth, and therefore, I regretted my actions and apologise to all regarding what my comment might have caused,” he added.

He appealed to the Sokoto and Kebbi states’ governments and the Muslim Ummah to forgive him.

Chairman of the Jama’atu Nasiral Islam (JNI) Kebbi State chapter, Sheik Abdulrahman Isah Jega, appealed to the governors of Sokoto and Kebbi and all Muslim Ummah to forgive Nasir Abubakar Kigo for his comment since he had apologised.
