The Federal Teaching Hospital (FTH) Birnin Kebbi in Kebbi State has disclosed that it has treated over 500 patients affected by cancer diseases.

Acting chairman of Medical Advisory Committee of the Hospital, Dr Muhammad Danyaro Rilwanu disclosed this to journalists yesterday on behalf of the Chief Medical Director of the hospital, Dr Aliyu Hamza Balarabe shortly after the Wife of Kebbi State governor, Hajiya Nafisa Nasir Idris visited the hospital in Commemoration of her Walk-Away programme on cancer in the state.

He said that the patients were from different parts of the 21 local government areas of the state.
Dr Rilwanu however called on people in the state to always report themselves to the nearest hospital whenever they discovered signs or symptoms of both cervical or prostate cancer for immediate treatment.

” Cancer is not deadly disease as it was expected because it can be cured especially at the early stage so, people should quickly rushed to the hospital whenever it was detected for immediate treatment,” Dr Rilwanu said.

During her visit, the wife of the governor, Hajiya Nafisa Nasir Idris presented cash assistant to affected patients.
