A political support group, BAO Grassroots Support for President Tinubu, has called on Nigerians to keep faith with President Bola Tinubu and support his political, social and economic reforms.
The group, which expressed its belief in the philosophy, ideology, vision, policies and programmes of the President, such are meant for the positive turnaround of the polity and in the overall interest of all Nigerians.
The group’s state coordinator, Prince Tunji Ogunlola and chairman, Babafemi Ojo while addressing a press conference heralding the formal inauguration and official takeoff of the body in Ado Ekiti also urged Ekiti people to massively participate in the Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise commencing on August 18, 2025.
Other executives of the group are: Mr Odunayo Ogunlola (Director of Publicity), Mrs Bola Ayo-Salami (Treasurer) among others.
Ogunlola said the group is dedicated to the task of projecting the good works of President Tinubu in Ekiti State and in Nigeria and mobilize support in the grassroots for him ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The coordinator who explained that president Tinubu is working for a greater, stronger and more prosperous Nigeria said the group is supporting his re-election in the 2027 presidential election and that of Ekiti governor, Mr Biodun Oyebanji in the 2026 governorship election.
He said, “They are both united in their resolve to make life abundant for the people of Ekiti State and the people of Nigeria whose mandate they are holding.
“To succeed in this assignment, the group will enlist the support and work with various interest groups in the grassroots. Such interest groups include the existing party structures, traditional rulers, community leaders, religious leaders, students, youths, women groups, trade unions, market women, civil servants, the informal sector, farmers, artisans, commercial drivers, motorcyclists, tricyclists, among others.
“Although members of this group have been holding meetings, the formal inauguration and takeoff of the body marks the official commencement of the takeoff of activities in all the 16 local government areas and 177 wards of Ekiti State to mobilize support for the re-election of President Tinubu.
“This group is mobilizing support for both the President and Governor Oyebanji who has conscientiously and sufficiently utilized the mandate given to him by the people of Ekiti State through his six-pillar development agenda.”
He highlighted some of the policies of the Tinubu Administration which are positively changing the face of Nigeria, to be the tax reform policy to support the weak, create jobs, grow business, boost foreign investment in Nigeria and ensure equity in the system. It is to institutionalize fair play on the nation’s tax system.
“The Student Loan Scheme to lift indigent students in various institutions of higher learning and save them from unceremonious and abrupt termination of their education. It has brought a relief to students and parents, helping young ones to realize their potentials in life and build the future manpower.
Also commendable is President Tinubu’s investment in infrastructure to support the economy, attract more local and foreign investment, and stimulate economic growth.
“The ongoing Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway, Sokoto-Badagry super highway, the award of federal roads in the state for reconstruction, but we appealed that Ado-Aramoko Road be included in the next budget”.
The group also lauded Governor Oyebanji for the great work he is doing and efforts in all sectors including the education, investment in public infrastructure like state roads, the Ring Road project and commercial agriculture initiative, Special Agriculture Processing, Bring Back the Youths into Agriculture among others .
On the participation in Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise, he said, “It is dedicated to those who have just reached the voting age, need new voter cards among other reasons, saying it is their civic duty that must be performed as patriotic Nigerians.”
The support group, thereby said all hands must be on deck to work towards the re-election of the President and the governor in the 2027 presidential and 2026 governorship election respectively.
