Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State has enjoined people of the state not to waver in their hopes for better days ahead in the face of prevailing challenges.
Adeleke, who described Easter as a momentary reminder that tribulation is a temporary condition that will give way to everlasting relief, recognised Easter’s spiritual bearing, particularly the power of hope and the promise of new possibilities for humanity.
In his Easter message, the governor underscores the message of sacrifice, which the story of Easter conveyed as a challenge that we must all accept in the shared hope for a better tomorrow.
He called for a renewed commitment to working for enduring unity, sustained peace, and a society that meets everyone’s aspirations.
“For Christians, Easter is a solemn reminder of the sacrifice of Jesus Christ and the redemption it offers to humanity. In a rare display of love for mankind, Jesus Christ willingly endured excruciating pain, humiliation, and surrendered his life on the cross to wash away the sins of mankind and give hope to eternal life,” Governor Adeleke noted in his message.
“While this moment calls for celebration, it is also a time of sober reflection on the spiritual significance of the season and to remind ourselves that light will always prevail over darkness.”
Governor Adeleke reiterates his administration’s commitment to reliving the people’s hopes with service deliveries that touch on their needs. He says his administration will never waver in improving the people’s situation, upholding their rights to impactful governance, and making resources count for their benefit.
