The senator expressed optimism that next year, 2024, shall be better.
He stated this during his felicitations to the people of his constituency, Anambra State and Nigeria as a whole on the celebration of this year’s Christmas.

The senator in a statement called on Nigerians to be steadfast in their faith in God, noting that the birth of Jesus Christ which is being commemorated in the celebration of Christmas every December 25, has brought salvation and restoration of hope to humanity.

Umeh’s Christmas message reads: “Merry Christmas to all the people of Anambra Central Senatorial District and to all the people of Anambra State, to Ndị Igbo all over the world and Nigerians in general.

“This is a season of great joy; when we remember the birth of Christ Jesus who came to the world from his heavenly abode, became man and died for us on the cross in the end. That is the basis of our salvation. With that, He restored hope to humanity, and at each time we remember and commemorate His birth and His coming into the world, we rejoice because He has come to set all of us free from captivity. When we remember that, we continue to give praises to God almighty for sending His only begotten son to the world for our sake, despite our sins and iniquity which He came to wash away with His blood.

“We rejoice in this season. I want everybody to be happy in it. Let everybody be glad within this season.”

The Ohamadike Ndigbo added: “I know that things are very difficult but we should not give up. The joy of Christmas season is enough to strengthen us and keep hope alive. Jesus will always be there for us and to provide our needs according to his riches in glory.

“Merry Christmas to all of you. May God protect you within this season! May your life be preserved for you both within the season of the birth of Christ and after Christ’s birth.

“I wish everybody Merry Christmas and happy entry into the year 2024. It shall be well with all of us in the year 2024. I wish all of us prosperity in the year 2024. All the dreams we had in 2023 that were not met, I pray that God will grant us our dreams in 2024. Everything we lost in 2023, we shall regain in 2024. God shall be our fortress and our strength. May Jesus reign forever and ever, amen.

“Merry Christmas!
