Keystone Bank, in partnership with the Nigerian Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (NACCIMA) and the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency of Nigeria (SMEDAN), to host a capacity‑building sessions for entrepreneurs in Nigeria, in which the issues of poor record‑keeping and confusion over tax obligations were listed among the major barriers to growth for Nigerian small and medium enterprises.
The bank, which made this known said the training session aimed to give entrepreneurs practical knowledge and tools to strengthen their operations.
According to the bank, the sessions covered credit and investment readiness, tax and regulatory compliance, and business-scaling strategies. Participants received information on improving access to finance, strengthening operational structures and positioning businesses for competitiveness.
Group head, Retail and Digital Banking at Keystone Bank, Olayemi Sule, said the training reflects the bank’s deliberate strategy to empower SMEs beyond traditional financing.
She noted, that SMEs remained the backbone of Nigeria’s economy, and access to finance alone is not enough, which is why Keystone Bank continues to invest in capacity-building initiatives covering business management, regulatory compliance, and investment readiness.
Beyond financing, the bank said it remained committed to partnerships and innovative solutions that strengthen entrepreneurs and support long-term economic growth.
The bank said the partnership with NACCIMA and SMEDAN highlights collaboration in addressing SME challenges and supporting capacity building.
