Earlier this month, the Minister of Agriculture formally inaugurated the new board of the Bank of Agriculture, with former member of the House of Representatives, Kha’amuna Ibrahim Khadi, assuming the role of Executive Director, Risk Management.

Khadi represented Jere Federal Constituency of Borno State between 2011 and 2015 and remains one of the few women to have won elections in the state’s highly competitive political environment.

Khadi, who served as Deputy Chairman of the House Committee on Marine Transport, largely faded from the political scene after losing her re-election bid.

Alongside other members of the newly inaugurated board—including Muhammad Babangida as Chairman and Ayodeji Sotinrin as Managing Director—Khadi was nominated for the position by President Bola Tinubu in December 2025.

The Bank of Agriculture’s mandate is to support Nigeria’s agricultural sector through accessible financing, backing projects capable of creating jobs, promoting food security, empowering rural communities, and driving sustainable economic growth.
