This was disclosed to our Correspondent by the Kogi State Police Command’# spokesperson, SP William Ovye Aya, late Tuesday night.

The kidnappers had earlier demanded N20 million as ransom for their release.

In a message made available to LEADERSHIP in Lokoja by the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), William Ovye Aya, he simply said: “Today 30/09/2025 at about 1917HRS the kidnapped victims one Barr. Peace Onyesome and her sister Gift Onyesome regained their freedom unhurt.”

As at the time of filling this report, it was, however, not clear if ransom was paid for their release.

Recall that eight victims, including the driver of the bus, were earlier rescued on the same day of the incident, while the police command said efforts were still underway to rescue the remaining four victims and possible arrest of the perpetrators.

The statement, however, did not state the fate of the remaining two kidnapped persons.

LEADERSHIP reports that Barrister Peace Onyesome was one of the lawyers newly called to Bar in Abuja last week.
