The abductees were a man and a woman and were whisked away by the gunmen at midnight of Saturday when they raided Shabewa village in Dukku LGA, shooting sporadically into the air.

Alhaji Sambo Umar Shabewa, a resident of the area, who spoke with journalists on Sunday, revealed that his wife, Amina Usman Aliyu, and his younger brother, one Alhaji Mustapha Umar Shabewa, were taken away by the kidnappers.

He said the kidnappers burgled his house and allegedly targeted him for abduction, but having realised that he was not around, they went away with his wife and his brother.

He called on the authorities to help rescue the victims and protect the lives of the people of the community.
