Kogi Assembly Lauds Gov Ododo On Security

Kogi State House of Assembly has commended Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo for his unwavering commitment and proactive measures in addressing security challenges in the state.

This followed a motion of appreciation to Governor Ododo moved by the member representing Lokoja One State Constituency, Hon. Bin Ebaiya Shehu-Tijani.

Hon. Ebaiya who said the security and safety of lives and property were paramount responsibilities of any government, noted that the recent surge in armed banditry in many parts of the country posed significant threats to  peace and stability in the country.

The lawmaker noted that the governor demonstrated commendable leadership by initiating and supporting decisive military operations to counter and repel armed bandits terrorising various parts of the state.

According to Hon. Ebaiya, the proactive measures by the governor have led to the successful dismantling of bandits’ camps, restoration of peace in affected communities, and bolstered confidence among the people.

“The House is to note that the collaborative efforts between the state government and security agencies have resulted in significant successes in curbing banditry; the swift response and support from the governor have been instrumental in restoring normalcy to previously affected areas; the state’s proactive stance serves as a model for addressing security challenges through decisive governance and collaborations,” he said.

 

The lawmaker commended security agencies for their bravery, professionalism and sacrifices in the successful execution of operations against bandits.

 

He called for continued support and collaboration between the executive arm and security agencies to sustain the gains achieved and prevent future occurrence.

 

 

 

Seconding the motion, the member representing Kabba-Bunu State Constituency, Hon. Seyi Bello commended Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo for his attention to Bunnu district.
