Foremost civil society organisation (CSO) and one of the accredited election observer groups in the ongoing Kogi State governorship election, Yiaga Agrica, has raised the alarm over pre-recorded election sheets in favour of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The two result sheets were filled in two local government areas of Ogori/Magongo and Okehi.
Yiaga Africa’s discovery comes before the commencement of the election exercise on Saturday morning, calling on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to quickly investigate and address the anomaly to safeguard the integrity of the process.
Taking to its official X account (formerly Twitter, the CSO wrote: “Dear @inecnigeria we received report of pre-filled results sheet discovered in PU 004, Eni Ward of Ogori/magongo in Kogi state before commencement of voting. Kindly investigate and address this issue promptly to safeguard the integrity of the process.
“Another case of pre-filled results sheet in PU 020, Eika/Ohizenyi, Okehi LGA of Kogi state.”
